Before Dana became a yoga teacher, she was a New York City Department of Education high school English and Theatre teacher.
With a Masters in Education in English Education and Educational Theatre from New York University, teaching always came naturally to Dana. After finding yoga, she embarked on a journey to receive her 200 Hour Yoga Alliance certification from Pure Yoga in New York City under the instruction of KK Clivio and Yogi Charu. Now, 500 Hour certified and E-RYT from Pure Yoga, and numerous certifications under her belt, Dana has dedicated herself to teaching yoga full time.
After moving from New York to Los Angeles, Dana has had the opportunity to guest lecture in various trainings on topics ranging from prenatal yoga, the sutras, to yoga for athletes. After being a part of different trainings and reflecting back on her own personal experience with Pure Yoga, Dana teamed up with colleague Jennifer Smith and co-founded Yoga 108: 200 Hours of Mind, Body, & Spirit.
Yoga 108’s teacher training program focuses on educating their students on the meaning of the tradition of yoga, celebrating the lineage of past gurus, and growing their physical practice while honing the skills needed to become a well rounded teacher. Our program aims to blend the philosophy, theory, and technique of the yoga tradition while fostering a very meaningful and dedicated practice.
Yoga 108’s extensive curriculum covers the body aspect- learning, teaching, and adjusting asanas with focus on correct foundation and alignment, the mind- learning to be in control of one’s thoughts using a variety of breathing and meditation techniques, and spirit- finding a connection with the body, self, and divine.
Whether you are deepening your practice or starting a career as a yoga teacher Yoga 108 meets all the requirements of Yoga Alliance and upon completion of our 200 hour program you will qualify to be 200 hour RYT certified. Yoga 108’s goal is that through the exploration of mind, body, & spirit, you will find a connection to yourself and others.
Teacher Training Dates, Times and Details:
Schedule: Saturdays: 1-7pm, Sundays: 1:30-7:30pm (10 weekends), Required weekly practice
Location: Namaste Highland Park
Homework and Required Reading: You will receive the prerequisite homework required reading list upon acceptance to the program.
Graduation Requirements: Full attendance at all teacher training hours and full completion of all homework assignments is required to graduate.
Phenomenal second day of yoga teacher training today with the awesome Dana Kraft and Jennifer Haley (aka Yoga 108). So blessed to be studying and enriching my practice with two of the best. Truly a gift from the universe manifesting itself in these two extraordinary women, both so generous with their time, knowledge and instruction.
