This Thanksgiving I can honestly say that I’m the most thankful I have ever been for the things that I have in my life. As I sit here on the couch relaxing next to my boyfriend, I’m content. One of the Niyamas, Santosha, “invites us into contentment by taking refuge in the calm, still place within, which is always available to us, no matter what life brings. It also asks us to open our hearts to gratitude for what we do have and make peace with our stories, exactly as they are.” (Santosha Birth and Wellness)
Life is never going to perfect, but when we accept our circumstances and cultivate a practice of gratitude, I have found that the things we want to attract will come in abundance.
Today I’m grateful for my the man I’m sitting on the couch with, my dear friends and family, my ridiculous dogs, my yoga, and the career in yoga that continues to grow, and my students, who I am continuously learning from everyday.
Happy Thanksgiving and I hope each and everyone of you are having similar feelings today and continue the practice of gratitude as we move forward tomorrow.
